- Why do I have to wash the nappies before use?
- The nappies must be washed before use to remove the fabric softeners use in manufacture. Not only is it good for your baby to remove these chemicals, the fabric softeners reduce the absorbency of the nappy fabric to the point where water will bead on the fabric. We recommend washing at least two times in hot water with a regular amount of regular detergent before using the nappies. Clear the lint filter of the machine before this wash and wash at most 12 nappies on full-load setting at a time. There is no need to dry between these washes. Most nappies will be ok to use after two washes but will not reach full absorbency until after around 5-7 washes. We do not recommend using the nappies overnight until they have reached their full absorbency.
